When doing the air compression in a cylinder to remove the valve springs, do all the remaining spark plugs have to be in?
I'm airing up the cylinder and seems like a big air leak/hissing somewhere. My air compressor keeps turning on to fill up the 60psi I have it set at.
Thanks for your help
You will need to rotate the engine by hand some as the hissing sound is air going thru one of your valves in that cylinder as both valve need to be closed to fully compress the cylinder you are working on. I always use a breaker bar and socket and rotate the engine by using the balancer bolt (make sure to remove the breaker bar/socket off the balancer bolt after you rotate the engine to where you need it) It is easiest to rotate the motor when all the spark plugs are removed and NO they do not need to be in the other cylinders. Hope this helps

I wasn't able to check back after I posted, because I just kept on going with the install. The valves held up into place and everything was done in about 3hrs total. Probably could of been done sooner, but the back valves were a tight area and getting the locks to stay together was a pain lol.
It wasn't a very difficult job, but very time consuming. All in all, the car started up and sounds good with the cam

I just got everything together to do a cam swap and need one.
Also how likely am I to break a bolt off in the head by using this?
