Default Floor Jacks

I am in need of a good floor jack and would like opinions. I dont have 300 dollars to spend on one, but I need something that can lift either end of my Z28 at least 18 inches. Thanks

Take a look at COSTCO,, that is where I bought mine. It is not light (non-aluminum)but it has a low profile and it picks up the Caprice with no problems. Should work well on your Z... I think I paid 69.00 for mine 1 year ago. Roger ,,,,

I bought one of the lightweight low profile aluminum Sears jacks for a decent price. It's got an 18 1/2" lift. The 3 drawbacks are it sits very high at the back end so the low profile front goes under the car easily but the backend hits the car if you are going far under the car for a lifting point. It takes a lot of effort to use since it only takes 6 pumps to raise it from low to high. Also, since it takes a high effort to use and is so light, the frontend wants to lift off the ground as you are pumping the handle before it reaches the car. I prefer my 20 year old cast iron old fashoned behemoth jack over any of these new high tech jacks.
