Craftsman rant.
Needless to say, the project was done for the evening.

Although, they may only have the basic stuff.
don't let them know that, the damn store didn't want to warranty a 32mm socket that i broke in 3 places because i used the impact on it, so i waited till there was a girl there and took it back in, problem solved. they do on occasion break but for the money their great. i've probably broke more snap-on socket, but then again i use them everyday at work and with my 3/8 impact that will break anything.

I got mine from Sears and when I broke my 8mm & 10mm the sorry *** mangaer told me I'd have to send them in to get replaced. I tried arguing the fact that I had just spent over $1500 in tools from their store that he should just swap them out for me since i was planning on purchasing their Professinal series toolboxes, but he woulnd't budge. So I was telling my Matco dealer about this and he told me to get the wrenches and he would swap them out for me for no cost. About a 1/2yr later I purchased a Matco 7535 3-bay toolbox with a stainless steel top and cover for about $5000. I take a picture of me with the new toolbox and decided i wanted to go visit the manager at Sears just to **** with him. i show him the pics and he tells me he was just doing his job and so I tell him I'm doing mine and to go **** himself with crapman tools.
sorry about the rant guys but I had to
Craftsman tools are manufactured by Danaher, the parent company of Matco tools. In fact, Danaher is the parent company (owns the rights to) KD tools, Armstring, Matco, Allen, Kobalt, Craftsman and others (the used to mention Craftsman by name on their websit wwwDanaher.com but they no longer do...). I have heard the same thing - that some Craftsman pieces are nearly identical to the Matco offerings, esp the sockets. The new thin profile Cman "pro" ratchets are very similar in construction to the Matco 60-tooth series ratchets. Also, check out the Cman Pro full polished wrenches. Put them next to some Matcos. They are strikingly similar.
There are also some Craftsman pieces that look very similar to some SK pieces (full polish line wrenches). I cannot verify an SK-Craftsman connection, but I do know that Sears does sell a lot of SK through their catalog.
Take this for what it's worth, but so far my Craftsman tools have been an unbeatable value.
