Default parts washer solvent/cleaner

Hey all,
I mentioned to a buddy of mine that I have a bunch of parts I need to get cleaned up... and he promptly brought over a parts washer for me to use that's just been sitting in his garage for a while that somebody had given to him.

it's an old one but the pump works so now I just need to get some solvent.

The washer is a Kleer-Flo Cleanmaster J40 and it calls for 10 gallons of Kleer-Flo Hi-T Degreasol. I looked around a little bit and noticed there are some water based cleaning solutions out there and really a lot of different options. It would be nice to be able to use something not quite so harsh on the nose as far as odors and whatnot and maybe not flammable?

What I am wondering is, does it matter what type of solvent I actually put in it? I would assume that if it can take the heavy solvent that it'd be fine with pretty much anything else right? Are there any out there that you guys would recommend, or something to stay away from?

Thanks!
