Compressor
That was my main shop compressor for years (a Campbell-Hausfeld 25 gallon). Good enough for light impact, air ratchet, blowgun, etc. I'm assuming it's a "true" 1.5 hp. Mine is marked as a 5 hp motor (LOL), but it only draws 15 amps at 120 volts. General rule of thumb is 10 amps per horsepower at 120 volts. So realistically speaking, mine's a 'true' 1.5 horsepower motor that they stuck a marketing sticker on.
I did use the little one for some DA sanding, and for some painting, but it really got tired when using the DA. It would always start spitting water after a few minutes.
My new (big) compressor draws 23 amps at 220 volts. It's a 'true' 5 hp motor. I use it for everything.
I put in a bunch of water traps, so DA sanding for an hour straight is just light work for this one, and the air is clean and dry.
