Cheapest alternative is to go to Harbor Freight and get their metal socket rails, cliup your sockets to them and then lay them on their side in your drawers. If you wanna get just a little http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/s...p?t=6431spendy, check this out:

I dont like the stuff HF has, I HATE thos rails with the little clips that go into the bottom of the socket, its hard as hell to get one off when your hand is covered in oil.

I read on another forum that Mac makes some "Twist and Lock" socket rails that are really nice. Ive never seen them but Ive been trying to find a Mac truck locally to get some off.

Personally, I like the Hansen trays.

I use these ...

http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/...091144298_.jpg

With a sharpie, I labeled the holder as to size, with the same size deep/shallows across from each other.

Flat and stays 100% organized ..

I've seen them at Sears and Northern Tool

Those look awesome! I have to lay everything down and have all my wrenches laying together due to more tools than box.

I wish I could afford a bigger box. I never thought I'd fill this one up! HA! Shoulda known...

The stand up ones will make me have to move the 1/2" stuff down further towards teh bottom I would rather have them up higher. The red lay-down style is what I have been looking at they are just so expensive through Sears, was wondering if there is an off-brand for them. I wouldnt like the twist rails by Mac either because well Im **** about organization and those look like **** to me. I really love the Hansen trays but they wont fit in my upper drawers

I've had experience with these. I liked them a lot. I've also got the stand up post racks up above and those are also handy.

How deep is the drawer you're using the 1/2" sockets in?

Just deep enough, maybe 3.5 I think? They just barely squeek under the other drawer.

Here's another idea. Sears sells their plastic 4 drawer tool box empty, too. For $29.99 you can buy the box, and take out the shelves, and use them for storage of your sockets, and wrenches. They have all the sots for 1/4;3/8; and 1/2"; both standard, and metric. Also spots for you wrenches, Ratchets, and accessories, too.

Can we get those anywhere else besides sears? (Preferably cheaper) I was looking at them, they are badass, I look to be my choice, but would love to save some money $$$ they are like $12 a tray.

Looks like Northern tool sells it "slightly" cheaper. I really need to check out northern tool, I have been a harbourfreight guy but it looks like there is a norhtern tool near me as well.

i use these trays. i put the deep socket on the shallow socket stud, and i put the 6 point and 12 point shallow on the deep socket stud.

the twist and lock rails are cool too. any of the trucks can get them. i got mine from matco.
