How difficult is it to build an outdoor storage shed?
I need a storage shed badly. How dificult is building a simple storage shed on a budget or would buying a shed at lowes or home depot be cheaper? I would like a 10 x 8. I figure if I know how to throw up stud walls and do sheetrock it can't be that difficult to throw up a simple shed. I do need some tips on roof construction- like what design is the easiest to build.

Trust me ... and 8x10 will fill up WAY too fast. I have a 24 x 50 shop and then built a 16 x 20 storage building with a barn type loft. They're both full.
For something small like you described, the pre-fabbed units like you see at home centers would be the cheapest route. My 16 x 20 wood sided and shingled roof was over $4K. The plan is to installed a metal roof on the storage shed.
I do suggest some sort of paver or concrete stepping stone be laid down as the floor.

look around for companys that build sheds. There prices are not too much more then building your own. If its something you want to tackle yourself go to Home depot and pick up a carpentry book and read away.

I built a 12x16 For my parents a few years back, It has a 4x12 loft on both sides. with 2 sliding windows. They had about $1500 in materials after it was all said in done. That's with guttering, paint, shingles and all..
