Default Drill press clamps and vises

Hey guys,

I got a rather nice 13" 16sp drill press for x-mas, and I found out rather quickly that I need to get something to hold down work peices...

I was looking around and there are many different type of things, everything from clamps that bolt to/through the table (1, 2, 3), and flat holddowns (1, 2) to vises (1, 2) and machining vises that move on their X and Y (1, 2) axis. Those links are just examples of the things I am talking about and not the exact items I'm looking at...

What do most of you use, and would you recomend (either for or against) a certain type or brand?

BTW, the types of things I am going to use it for at first are making my own brackets, hangers, and things like that. They will more then likely small flat, or small angle pieces, maybe a few 1/4" thick at the most.

If you have the option, Wilton is the best brand out there for clamping and vises. I have several Wilton sliding bar clamps, u clamps, forged vises, etc. Top notch machine work and bullet proof reliability. I got rear ended the other day at about 10 MPH. My big Wilton vise is mounted off the back of my flat bed. The guy that hit me was driving an F-350 with a ranch hand bumper. Lets just say the vise didnt get more than a scratch and the bumper was crushed. I spun the vise to make sure everything was fine and told the guy to have a nice day.
