Hey need alittle help. I am making a PG crossmember basically
2 L brackets made of mild steel plate - bolt to frame mounts
~ 1 5/8" DOM seamless tubing between the two
1 - bracket for the transmission
2 - brackets with fishmounts on on end to attach trans mount to seamless tubing.
The DOM is .120", what thickness steel should I use for the flanges?
Phil

.
I'm a 1/4 inch fan, but I got a bunch years ago and have been using it for everything.
Why L brackets, I would plate the ends and bolt those to frame.
Another tip we always do for NON-full chassis cars, poly trans mount, a bunch of people used solid mounts and would crack cases. Good luck.
