Cordless Battery question

I was wondering if it was actually okay to leave my cordless drill batteries on the charger even if they are already charged? I have heard that this is bad for them but I dont want to them to get old and loose charge. I have a Craftsman 19.2 set. I have 9 tools and 5 batteries and 4 chargers.

I've been doing it for years with my Ryobi tools... doesn't seem to hurt them.
