Need a new multi-meter ...

My Realistic digital multi-meter has finally died after 20 years of faithful service.

What's a decent, general purpose, digital multi-meter.

I've looked at Fluke brand, but see a wide range of models and are kinda pricey.

AC/DC volts, ohms, auto range are really all I need. Temp would be a nice bonus.

What's recommendation for something in the $50 range?

little more than you want to spend, but awesome meters. I would recommend these right under flukes.

I have 3 flukes and they have been beat to hell and back.
They all still work, the only reason I bought another one is because its very difficult to read the display on my 2 older ones

yeah man i would recommend picking up a fluke at a pawn shop. i bought a $350 model for $25 and it was almost new. works like a dream every time.

fluke is damn good but as said it is pricey.
i got a blue point brand new for like $90something simple to operate, auto ranging...bla bla

I sell Fluke, Sperry. Ideal. etc. but bang for the buck this meter is badass at around $60 http://www.hioki.com/product/328010/index.html

The Hioki rep tells me they are the "fluke of Japan" and they have the best warranty I've ever seen @ 5-year replacement

I have 2 Fluke 88 models and they are definitely the tops. I bought one 15 years ago, and was given the other 7 years ago from Toyota after becoming a Master Diagnostic Technician. Yea, they're pricey, but they are the best. Their less expensive models are still worth the coin though, and have all the features you need.
