Made lifter tools for cam swap.
Well I am gathering tools to do this job and read quite a few threads about people just using 5/16 wood or metal rods.
bought one rod 4 feet at Lowes for under 5 bucks, cut in half, had my grandfather find some other rod and weld on the handles, then I shaved down the tips smooth to go in easier.
so here is what I came up with.

not sure I heard some use straight wooden rods and do nothing to them as well as metal ones.
then some said they flattened it out some, who knows it will only take 5 more minutes to flat one side if needed with a grinder.

22"-23" use 5/16 steel rods from HD or Lowes $5.00-$6.00 tops. On the passenger side grind off 5/32 (flatten) the length of the rod. They will slide right in. Oil them for good measure. Done deal and piece of mind. Don't use wood and risk giving your engine splinters. Much less expensive than pen magnets also.
