Hey there,
Haven't posted in a while, but then I saw this new forum, looks great...
Anyhow, like the title says, I need a 16x1.5mm die to cut threads on my B&M ripper when I cut it down. I have heard people have just welded a bolt with that thread onto the end of the stick after cutting it, but I'd like to try this first. I can't find an affordable set that has this size, the only ones that do are way too expensive for now.
Does anyone know where I could pick up this die all by itself?
Thanks,
Andrew

That place has some seriously oddball tap & die sizes. I got a 13/16-16 tap from them. Haven't had an opportunity to use it; might never use it, but they got it to me once it was in stock. Poland made.
g/l w/ your project.

You can also goto McMaster.com. They have more crazy stuff on their site than anywhere else. The part number for the die is 8294A64.

I don't think you 'll actually manage to cut threads on that shifter handle with a tap. I suspect you'll need to have a machine shop use a lathe and cut threads on it. That handle is some seriously stout stuff. Nothing is impossible, but you better buy a couple dies....just my thoughts...good luck!
