Default Broken Screw

I was taking the IAC solenoid off of my throttle body and one of the screws broke off almost flush with the machined surface. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can use to get that little fugger out?

easy-outs, try your local hardware or auto parts store. Have had good luck out of left handed drill bits too if you can get it to bind up.

Edit *should look like this*

Thanks. I'm headed to the hardware store now. I have a couple of those, but they are much larger. I've never actually seen one as small as the one I'll need.

I found the small ease out and actually got a hole drilled in the screw. The ease out promptly broke off in the hole. I guess I'll try to find a machine shop that will get it out for me before I turn it into a piece of scrap aluminum.

You can take a carbide bit to get the easy out outthen start again next time go deeper when you drill it. If the old screw is bad enough it may have to get drilled out completley.

I pull out bad screws all the time at work so PM me if you have any questions.

Be glad it was not a titanium screw hahaha

If its not flush like you said take some GOOD needle nose vise grips that will fit on it and grab the screw so that you can turn them on a counter clockwise direction, you don't want the tool pointed straight down on it.

If you can get them on there and grap you will be able to remove it and can spray some penatrant on it a few hours before to help.

I do this quite a bit because drilling titanium sucks.....

If you are not dead straight with the easy out or close they will break a lot. Thats why drilling deaper helps, it keeps the easy out straight.
