Default Exhaust weld causes wierd noise?

Is it normal for connection pipes to overlap a little and then be welded.....reason I ask is Im wondering why my exhaust tone is way more Flappy raspy and higher pitched than everyone else with my setup. Why is this? I would like to correct it if possible. The guy who did my exhaust let them overlap by about a half inch, and then welded. I havent fully checked for leaks in other areas, but all the welds seem solid, and leak free.

No overlap is just fine. For flow purposes you want the overlap to go over the pipe that is upstream. Other than that, it will not effect sound.

^^^^agreed with above. plus the joint is easier to weld with an overlap.
