Default fiberglass help

well im making an amp rack outa fiberglass and im in the stage of fleecing and i had a hole in the back of it. i patched it up but now i have tape holding the patch on. can i fiberglass over top the tape or will i need to figure out another way? im asjing this before i start to lay down the resin.

i made a pcm cover out of cardboard and duct tape, then fiberglass. i havent had any problems. and it gets a good bit of heat from the engine bay.

WTF is fleecing?
You can fiberglass over tape as long as the new layer is thick enough and there is enough fiberglass around the taped area to give it something to bond to.

Yeah you can fiberglass over tape. I have used tape for part of a mold before. It works great because after the glass cures you can peel off the tape.

9000th01ss, fleecing is after you make the basic structure you use fleece or a similar material to stretch between the structure you built. You use this material as a backing for the fiberglass. The glass actually soaks into the fleece and creates a super strong box or amp rack.

last night i soeaked the fleece in resin and woke up and it was rock hard. the tape peeled off so i just put resin on the under where the tape was. i just layed my first layer of fiberglass cloth. i have a pack of mat i have to lay once it is dry then im covering it in bondo/resin mixture and then sand and paint. im about half way done. ill post pics of my final amp rack in the audio section
