Welding question...
Welding question..... I have played around some in the past with a welder and some scrap steel, and done ok. My question is this, its gonna cost me ~$700 just in labor to get my SFCs, BMR Extreme T/A, and rollbar welded in. I found this book and this book online. I am thinking about buying one or both of these books, a welder, and some scrap steel, and playnig with some scraps before trying my SFC, TA, and rollbar. Whatcha think, possible? Anyone taught themselves to weld like this, and welded with any success? Thanks, Shawn
Re: Welding question..... I asked a similar question in the Drag Racing forum today but no replies yet. I fear that the rollbar has to be profesionally done and certified with Tig welds. I hope I'm wrong about this because mine would have to be custom made.
Re: Welding question..... I just learned to weld myself, and it's not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I has a mechanic show me just a couple pointers and then took off 
My first project was my true duals:
After a little practice, my welds improved a LOT...so as long as can get some scrap to practice on, I say go for it! Some books wouldn't hurt and I'm sure some people on here could give you some pointers
