PHISHING crosshairs on LS1tech...
PHISHING crosshairs on LS1tech... Not sure what I came across here but i was in the middle of typing a PM and my screen flashed to this site.

Im 99% sure this is a Phishing attempt so just wanted everyone to have a heads up.
What clued me in was the mention of a "gold" membership of some sort. It wanted me to re-log in, however I just pulled up another tab and tried LS1tech.com and low and behold I was logged in.
So if im not mistaken this is a pretty legit looking phishing attempt. If your worried about following the link then don't. I followed it 10 times before posting this to make sure it didn't do anything, and it didn't it closes out like any other internet page with no popups or anything.
Hopefully im not in trouble for posting the URL but i just thought I could at least post it... since I thought to copy it... so if you see this URL you know its not LS1 tech. Or you can follow it to see what the phishing site looks like for future reference in case it happens to you.

I know at my school (Southern Illinois University Carbondale) there were some kids who got phishing emails that had them re-log into the SIUC webmail, then the phishing site hacked their accounts changed their passwords and started spewing other phishing emails and viruses to other emails and sites. It locked them out and even the admins were having trouble getting it shut down. For a short peirod of time hotmail and gmail completely blocked all emails from siuc.edu
if someone tries to log in through that phishing site it could very will completely ruin their account and do god knows what else to ls1tech.

I had a pop up the other day too! Im not sure what it was but I was just reading and saw a pop up and X'ed it out real fast. Never happened before though. Just thought I would let you guys know.
I don't think that's a phishing site.. Do you have a Yahoo toolbar installed on your browser by any chance? Because that site is Yahoo's Babel Fish which just translates foreign text to english, just like Google Translator. If you click the link at the top of that page "View page in its original language" it just redirects you to LS1Tech. I don't smell anything phishy (pun intended).
haha, well i wondered that when i got there but i didnt know why for the most random reason that I got re-directed there. jus kinda threw up a red flag in my mind. might very well be fine but jus wanted to throw it out there since it did seem odd...

Anyone else seeing some sort of BS "sciencerevenue" site trying to load, and it causes LS1Tech to pause for a second. Sometimes it is that site, other times it is the stupid doubleclick thing. It gets annoying on every single page.
Same thing happening on Corvetteforum also, but another site. Seems ever since Internet Brands took over, some crazy stuff happening.

Make sure you have filters set medium/high and a blocker to stop them from coming up in the first place. Most times you can set "block phishing" in the tools menu of your internet settings in the Internet Options menu and disable page translation as well.
