Go to UserCP:

Go to Edit Options:

For Default Thread Subscription Mode change it to "No email notification"
With the above settings, you will not get email notifications of any updates, however, any thread you post or create will get added to your Subscriptions folder, which is located in the UserCP section. Whenever the thread is updated by another user, the thread will appear in the UserCP section under the New Subscribed Threads with the new post notification/icon
If you still can't find your thread it may have been deleted or moved to archive. You can also use the top bar on the main page, it shows these direct links:
