How many PM's can we have?

How many PM's can we have? I know at times I've seen members mention another member's PM box is full.
I'm curious if there is a limit on the number of PM's, or is it based on file size if they include attachments?

Which is why I said it depends on the usergroups because they're defined at the level, as is numerous other items.
