can a member delete their forum name?

can a member delete their forum name? I was just wondering if a user can delete their name on here? If they could would it still show threads and post they made? I am wondering, because of someone I think is a scammer might have done this. thanks.

Only Administration can alter or delete a user name. Once a user name has been selected upon registration, it is permanent as Administration has decided to not allow changes, and a user cannot change their own.
On a technical note, if it were possible for a user to delete their account or Administration deleted the account, any past posts (if not deleted) would appear under a poster of "Guest".
