Search users by state? I am wondering if there is a way to find other users in the same state...
I live in Alaska and was wondering if there were many others from AK on here.

Adrian is correct that the Location field is not mandatory, and in addition, it's a text input box. This means you will get variations and inconsistency. For example, some might type ALASKA or AK in their location field.
However, we have turned on the ability to search by location. Go to the Memberslist: https://ls1tech.com/forums/members/list/
Under Search Members drop-down menu, Click on Advanced Search: https://ls1tech.com/forums/memberlist.php?do=search
In the location field, type in the location you are trying to search for (Alaska, AK, etc.). Using Anchorage, AK, there is about 15 hits.
