Default infractions again ...

So, i too got an infraction for responding to a negative feedback post. I was about to buy something from a guy for a lot of cash and happen to come upon a negative feedback post about him. in the end, he promised to make it right and i had posted to ask if the guy ever made it right.

Now, evidently, this is a violation because i was not personally involved in the sale/purchase??? well, i would have been personally ticked had i sent this guy money and he screwed me. so rather than post up a new post, where the old posters/notifications would have no knowledge/effect, i just posted there, hoping someone would post up saying the issue had been resolved...

so i get an infraction for this?

and from a moderator who has swear words and vulgar comments throughout his profile?

im putting an lq4 in my 67 camaro and a turbo... thats the reason i came to ls1tech.com. prior to that, i was on camaros.net and chevelles.com for 10+ years

those guys know how to run a website. the vulgarity/language/naked pics isnt there. especially from a moderator....

now im not saying that you cant do this stuff in your own garage, but this a website about cars and how to fix them right? do we have to use the language online? would you use that language at your mom or your boss?

id like to ask this site to put their moderators through a little more screening before cutting them loose...

To me, swearing in your signature, where everyone can see... especially when you are the face of ls1tech.com, deserves an infraction WAY before asking if a man kept his word and trying not to get screwed...

I have found that there were a few poor moderators, with ties to some regular citizens (non-moderators), that cloud their judgment.

I have had a handful of infractions, of which, only one was not deserved. The rest, I deserved. Some were borderline, but we are dealing with people, not robots, so one mod's interpretation of events is different from another.

To me, you rightfully got the infraction according to the reasons you provided. What you are trying to do is justify your actions by providing a big "what if". Instead, find a "lawful" way accomplish the same task.

The fastest way to avoid an infraction is to follow the rules.

There is a simple solution to this: You could have sent a PM to the original poster of the feedback thread, asking him if the issue was ever resolved to his satisfaction. Frankly, you're more likely to get a reply that way than to drag up an old thread that may never be noticed by the OP anyway.

My last boss used more foul language than most people would beleive. He was an Executive Director for a major publicly owned corporation.

As this site is not for children, we've never had a problem with some occasional use of profanity (unless you are launching an assult on another member). Excessive use should be avoided, though.

Default infractions part 2

So in response to my other thread

https://ls1tech.com/forums/user-supp...ons-again.html

that got closed before i could respond, im not trying to provide a big "what if"... or justify anything... the guy screwed someone, multiple people, and rather than PM 5 or 6 people involved, i just responded to the post where all replied and where all might have "notifications of post" on. thats a lot easier than PM'ing half a dozen people....matter of convenience... not such a leap of faith/big "what if" that the guys would see this and respond....

ive done nothing wrong. call it like you see it, im a little more mature than the internet tough guys we have here... ill survive.

as for success and profanity, im sure they are not mutually exclusive... but i think someone can easily ask "which mf'ing camshaft is better for my car, ahole?" in a slightly more courteous way... and certainly a moderator should be held to a higher standard than us lowly newbies... they are the face of ls1tech.com...

no wonder there seems to be an awful lot of scamming on this site....

id welcome the chance to tell the site owners...

what you say on the internet is available for many to see for a long time.

close the thread as you see fit...

Well thank you for your approval.

I do appreciate your ability to refrain from turning your complaint into an immature and childish attack, unlike what's been seen in another recent thread in this section.
