From the FAQ:
Post Counter Not Working
We have disabled post count tracking in select forums. This will help reduce "post-whoring" and "free posts" from members trying to pump up their post counts.
We also have a 50 post minimum requirement (or 6 months membership) to post a new classified ad in the parts for sale forum. This was done to help reduce the potential of newly-registered scammers taking advantage of our members. Now they will have to post in the technical and racing forums to earn their post count, which may help turn them away.
Forums with disabled post-counting:
Introductions & Greetings
Signature Test Forum
Racer's Lounge
Multimedia Exchange
Street Racing & Kill Stories
All Classifieds Forums
All Regional Forums
Basically, if it isn't a technical forum, the posts do not count in it.

US_Army_Z28 I used to wonder too but then realized it really doesn't matter whatsoever. You have 500 posts. I have a ton too, and have another few hundred in the 'What's It Worth' section that didn't count either. I just try to help others out in that section and posters learn who you are based on your comments. I don't think they care if you have 200 or 2000. Actually it looks kinda silly to have too many (like 10,000+) as it appears that you have no life

Even my 18k+ posts only amount to an average of 4.32 per day in the tech sections. Crazy how much that can add up over the course of 11.5 years.

Yes, they do add up. I'm stunned at my total but it doesn't even average 1 post per day. Like RPM WS6 posted above, even his average of 4 posts per day put him at a crazy high total. I'm glad I didn't discover this site earlier than '06.

That's a **** poor way to look at it. TONS of people spend meaningless hours behind something stupid like a TV. Some choose not to use their "downtime" to sit idle and become dumber by the likes of modern day television programming. Instead they choose to share knowledge and contribute to a hobby that most people in the world could care less if it died off. I'd say ANYONE who contributes should be thanked. So anyone who contributes here or to this hobby in general that is reading this: Thank You.
