Default HPTuners attachments

I can't open any of these files users have attached on LS tech.

I have no issues when on the hpt site.

It used to work here?????

In order to assist we'll need more information. Any error messages or a description of what's occurring, what browser and browser version along with extensions/plug-ins or add-ons.

From this post:

This is what I see when I click on an attachment to open.
Typically, this would open directly in HPT.
This site adds that long string of numbers in front of the file. Saving without that string does not work either.....

On this site, it only gives me the option to save, not to open.

See below

IE 11
I really don't know anything about add ons. I
This works on the hpt site, not here. Same laptop etc.

I did update to Win 8.1 recently, my laptop forced this.....

The problem is that your browser is saying it's an HTM file, per the extension in your screen capture, when it's not an HTM file.

Attached is a screen capture showing that it is working correctly for me with Windows 8.1 and IE.

You might try clearing your browser's cache. If you use the built-in script to clear the cache and have LS1Tech bookmarked, you will need to remove the check box for Preserve Favorites data.

Thanks.

I noted that just before I came back here to see if you had a solution.
So I tried your suggestions, and no change. Still calls it a .html file.

But I did lose all my saved log ins......
Which is no problem. I get that everytime Comcast Norton cleans up my pc for me.

I can open the files however by saving as and changing the file extension to .hpl or .hpt.

If you just cleared temporary internet files, which is the same as cache, you shouldn't have lost saved logins for other websites. You probably cleared everything to include cookies.

Regarding the original issue, you might try another browser and/or disabling Norton to see what the results are. I'm not quite sure why your browser is identifying it as an HTM file when it's not and on our end the file is a HPL file and is working correctly for my tests.
