Subscriptions Lost?

Subscriptions Lost? I swear on multiple occasions I've subscribed to a thread, only to later no longer be subscribed later on. Does this happen to anyone else? And is there anyway to set it so any thread you reply automatically subscribes you? Other forums I'm on are setup this way by default. Thanks.

Almost all user options for the site are in the UserCP, so you might browse around for additional account preferences.
