Default Bigger PM box?

I dont know how feasible it is but if you are having a PM conversation with one or two people it gets full FAST. Especial if you want to hang onto a few PM's

I think I know what the answer is but I thought Id ask.

I cant agree more.
I am always going through past PM's and deleting them.
I believe the PM box used to be smaller then it is now, but even 100 is hard to keep down sometimes.
2/3/04 was my first PM sent and now I have nearly 600 sent PM's, which means I have recieved probally a similar amount.
1200 (give or take a 100) in the past 14 months.
Out of the 1200 I only can have about 90 lingering or I get a full box.
If anything can be added that would be awsome.

I've always got a balance of 30 or so PM's, and I clean mine out every other day or so. I haven't kept track of when my first one sent was, but I've prolly sent/received the same amount as you JZ.

When I want to save them I always download the pms into a file. There are three different formats to choose from. I wish they would make a HTML version. Im sure you already know but at the bottom of the PM main page it says...
Download all Private Messages as :
XML | CSV | Text

I back up all my PM's. The text format is the easiest to read. The other two look like jibberish to me. Even the .csv format comes out crazy in Excel.

Yeah, I do have to 'adjust' a few of them to get it right in Excel. The board software leaves full line-breaks in multi-paragraph messages when putting them into csv format, instead of changing them to the 'soft' line-breaks that Excel can use to have multiple paragraphs in one cell (Alt+Enter makes those) instead of the message being separated into multiple cells.

Haha...I remember when there was no limit(at least for mods) I had 7 or 800 PM's in there at once.

Then the 150 limit hit and now it fills up so fast.

Whoa, that's a hell of alot of PM's John.

This 100 limit for us civilians is the most on all the forums I'm on (6).

I'm satisfied.

I think Tony gets a lot of PM's too. I'm not sure what our hardware can support, perhaps Brian can tell us whether it would be feasible to bump it up to 200 for you guys. I'm not really sure if that would be a strain for our servers.

No big deal at all I seem to hover right around 180'ish myself, I'll delete 30 or so at a time and it fills right back up
