Default inconsistencies on this site

It would be nice to see some consistency on this site. As a new LS1 owner, I am trying to learn a few things about upgrades. The problem is that I read one thread where an upgrade worked great and the next thread will say that is was junk, ie. Hypertech on one thread will be presented as the best thing since peanut butter and the next thread will refer to it as Hyperjunk. I don't want the responses to this thread to get caught up on just Hypertech, but I see this on most all threads. I read a thread yesterday where a member said that his LS1 would spin the tires through 4th gear. The next thread said that it is impossible to do that with a stock LS1 which is what the guy/gal claimed he had. I read a thread where a member asked about using stock shocks and installling springs that would lower car. One member responded that is would work great, the next responded that it would be a mistake and that he nearly totaled his Z doing that.

If the tech's on this site know that something is not possible, why don't you delete it from the site? Help eliminate some of the confusion that this site produces and make this a site where a new LS1 owner can get some good, valuable and consistent information. I can't believe that every Z is so different that the upgrades are so different on so many cars.

Help us out here..........

A lot of these seemingly polar opposite reactions to certain things is all up to the application and/or driver. In the infamous cam discussions, what some people perceive as "so rough of an idle I couldn't stand it" would be "smooth as glass" to others. To some the Hypercrap might do all they need, while others may actually want to tune their car. Its really important to read as much as possible, and take into consideration the full picture behind each post. What is great for one guy is horrible for the next.

If every post or thread was deleted because someone else thought it was untrue, there wouldn't be much to this site.
One great thing about this site is you get to see all kinds of experiences with one product and then you can come to your own conclusion...
Also, sometimes, when you see a thread started by someone making extraordinary claims, you might look at how many posts they have.. Every once in a while, a new person comes in just to stary a flame war basically. Just ignore those threads or look at what people with experience are saying.

With every new username registered here, a new opinion is added. Of course you're going to get different responses from different people on the same topics! All these mixed opinions combine to form great conversation and great technical threads, and that is what makes LS1tech a niche site in the F-body performance world.

What I usually do is "Search" on a specific topic that I'm interested in, and I pick the product that more than half agree is good. Of course, I hold some member's opinion more highly than others, so that plays a big role, too.

The very "differences" you're posting about are the ingredients that make this site so astonishing. I've gone into threads with a hardcore opinion against a product, and left with a whole new perspective! Use the differences to learn more about your vehicle and become educated from both sides of the fence.

Echo the above statements. Its hard to cut through the crap sometimes but you can do it. In the case of hypertech or any other hand held tuner your going to get that opinion. Hand helds are very limited in what they can do and are "crap" when compared to something like hptuners. One allows minimal adjust, ent where the other allows total control.... big difference and thats why you get the difference of opinion. And of course yes you always have to watch out for the posers, but thats true in everything you do. Rule of thumb , if its sounds to outrageous to be true it usually isnt. Like spinning the tires through 4th gear of a stock ls1. Not possible during normal conditions but you might get a hero who leaves off the fact they were on a dirt road, or had an auto doing a brake stand with bald tires. Plus you'll always get people saying what they did is best. Best info to go buy is the info that presents facts with it not opinions. Good luck, maye the search gods be with you.

Your asking for everyone to have the same opinion?
What mod is good for one person may not be good for the next.

Example. I drove a Trex in my daily driver. A very good cam but not for everyone.
