Suggestion Project Vehicle Section 
Here is an example from another site..
The introduction and specifications sections are seperate from the discusion area.. Its a new concept on their site.

Within the introduction are links to each sub area of the project.
This allows the admin or moderator to post the project info uninterupted by the discussion and browsers to see the progress and learn the technical aspects without distraction.
I have seen a few cars on here where the owner/builders work is worthy of an area of uninterupted (locked) lime light and use as a reference area to forum members. The seperate dicusion area will alow for discussion without distracting from the readability.
Its definitely a possibility. What do you think about doing it in two levels -- getting a "basic" small one-page deal for free, and kicking in a few bucks a year to get a "premium" deal where you could do whatever you wanted? With 50k members, the hosting could get pretty outragous after a while, and that would be a decent balance for folks to basically get full webhosting at a discounted rate as well.

You could restrict bandwidth intensive things like pictures etc to external links...
If they want to do a ton of pictures they will have to use imagestation or something..
I was also thinking more on the lines of the sites mgts on going best project cars..
So its a really pro looking write up..
