procedure for buying from members
procedure for buying from members When u guys buy something from a member of ls1tech, what steps do u guys use for paying it. Do you send all money out front, half before half on delivery. Im just curious because I have never bought something from a forum where it had to be shipped. Thanks in advance.
Everything I've ever bought I've paid for all at once. That is except for when I bought the SC. I did Half and Half for that because it was such a large amount. If your still hesitant, talk to and get a feel for the person. My first transaction was for a set of rims and tires and I was terribly hesitant about sending the guy $1000 just on faith. I got his number and chatted with him for a few minutes and proceded to toss all my concerns out the window.

Payments are safer thru www.paypal.com if the seller has an account. You can pay for insurance or file a claim if the seller doesn't send the item, and get a refund. Paypal is owned by ebay, so they are a big company.
Sellers should always send items with some sort of tracking/delivery feature when possible. This will avoid issues of buyers saying they didn't receive the parts. FedEx or UPS seem to work the best when it comes to tracking deliveries.

Some very good points in this thread. Also, when possible, pay through paypal with a CREDIT CARD. Even if you dispute and win, and you paid via bank account, you will not get reimbursed if they have no money.
