Hmm, you seem to be correct. Other search terms work fine, but any set with the word free in it gives this error. ('free mods', 'mods free', 'free stuff', 'free power'...)

Warning: mysql_query(): Unable to save result set in /includes/db_mysql.php on line 212

There seems to have been a slight problem with the LS1TECH database.
Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Up and down -- I've got the search tables locked right now, updating data..

Basically here's what's up.. LS1Tech has bought another server, which will be 100% DEDICATED to search. Its going to take a while to get the bugs worked out, because we're now able to search on 100% of the data So, you'll notice on some big/detailed searches that it will time out. Don't worry, just hit refresh and it'll pick up where it left off. I'm working on making that process both more informative, more seamless, and most importantly faster.

The other beauty is search will no longer tie down the rest of the site. Search might take a hit and slow down, but browsing/posting/PM's/etc. will stay at full speed. We'll continue to improve search as quickly as humanly possible, of course.

I haven't been on that thing in several days... If you saw my name logged in, it was someone 24 years younger than I at the controls

lol.. Get this ****.. Brand new server, right? Well, the disk performance is WAY screwy with it.. You can xfer a block of data initially at very high (normal) speed -- around 48MB/sec. sustained drive-to-drive. After you transfer about 1.3GB, it drops to a near standstill ... UNDER 1MB/sec. It doesn't recover. So, I'm hammering on the support team to get this worked out.

heh, that is kinda wierd... is it always the same transfer amount before it hangs? or could it just be a mechanical thing with the hard drive, once it heats up?

hopefully you can get it worked out quickly without new hardware (and the wait that comes with that.)

in the meantime, everyone who has a error searching should copy any error message, and send it with a lengthy description of what you're searching for, and anything else relevent, to JRP

There's three drives in the server. It happens about the same amount of data, no matter which 2 drives you choose. So it appears to be either a controller or driver issue.

I completely wiped and installed the operating system on the server yesterday (Went from RHEL4 to the latest revision of FC5). Need to import the database, alter their storage engine, rebuild the indexes. Then, I can point search to it and see what happens.
