holy ****, it bursts to 50mb/sec with just web traffic!!!

i believe it. it all explains why so many sponsors are on LS1tech. i've always assumed the hit count is pretty big. i can tell you added/upgraded your servers recently. LS1tech went through some hard times at the end of last year with bandwidth being eaten up. there was a lot of lag. now, the bandwidth has been great. keep up the good work brains, tony and PSJ. this site is definitely the best LSx site on the internet. hell, it's the best LSx resource on the internet.

you gotta factor in all the images, avatars, sponsor flash ads and pictures in everyone's signature. everyone's profile alone is several hundred kilobytes with a signature, colored/bolded fonts and such. since there are over 500 people on tech at any given time, it's not hard to believe IMO. get into one of those image intensive threads where there are a dozen high quality JPEGs and BAM! bandwidth requirements out the behind.

brains, do the numbers laid out in the beginning of this post include SSU's bandwidth, hits and user count, also?

Sig pics are remote hosted, and do not show up in LS1Techs bandwidth, for example yours uses photobuckets bandwidth, same with posting images in a thread, with the exception of attachments.

that's a good point, i never looked at it that way. i'm not sure if the fact that LS1tech still has the pic on a profile still means they have to stream it also or not. i'm not sure what this has to do with me knowing everything, but i'm giving reasons why they use so much bandwidth. also, factor in LS1tech's video site, too.

you what you think is that video.ls1tech uses 0 of the bandwidth from the servers Brains is talking about? we should ask him about that. that's a question he'd have to answer. i don't know what his servers hold and what they don't, so you should probably check with him before you're absolutely sure. hopefully he'll chime in and give up the goods.

The thing that impresses me most about this site is the people who run it. Pro Stock John with accounting, Tony with great business decisions, and Brains with hardcore technical knowledge at its finest.

Damn that was a serious job of polesmoking by cantdrv

ChocoTaco, I think you would make more friends if you didn't state so many things as fact, when you aren't 100% sure

Video site is 100% on Vidiac, we share no bandwidth there. The traffic I posted above is just for LS1TECH, not the other sites.

sig pics and pics not loaded on the servers are just a URL to them, not a pic.

somehow, those massive numbers don't suprise me. can't beat the best LSX site on the net. active owners, very active mods, and active members with a good focus on good technical information, without the usual internet bullshit most sites have. hopefully the site can continue to grow and mature for years to come. and i want it to pay for some more of tony's dream rides. since i can't own them, i can at least get pics and threads of them being built

Navigating through LS1Tech is just like flipping through TV channels for me.
Whatever is "super slow" must be on your end.
