there's a certain mod in the texas section who's ideas are the number 1 waste of my time here on ls1tech-- number 2 being someone telling me to "search". "i see the search function just like everyone, and most of the time it doesn't work for me just like everyone else.

although like austin21 says, what the hell are you really going to do about it. i, myself, have found it harder and harder to recieve information valuable to me in the texas section. i have since looked elsewhere, like ls1/6 internal section, in order to find out what i would like to know.

on a side note and hopes not getting warned/banned the mods kinda resemble a dictatorship as opposed to a democracy. they're the only ones that get to vote on the banning issue, as opposed to the entire ls1tech society. granted in drags case the decision would probably still be unamoumous(sp). btw im not promoting any protest against the current rules here. im sure it's in the user agreement that i failed to read. hopefully i wont remain too ignorant in not doing so.

And with that...we have another contender

Damn skippy! Unlike a democracy , this is a privately owned site so free speech does not apply here. As you so aptly noted , there are rules set forth by the owners of LS1tech. To make it simple , this is their party in their house. The rules aren't unreasonable but are there to keep the site running smooth and easy to use. Our role as as mods is to keep the house from getting trashed because the owners can't be everywhere at once.

Think of it this way: If you didn't have police enforcing rules , the US wouldn't be a safe place to live. And while citizens get to vote on some new laws , the majority of the rules , they don't. There are plenty of GM sites out there but are there any ones as good a source as this one? There's a reason LS1tech is top dog and it ain't because of NWS threads....

^^^^i agree with you in theory....

i like the idea of the rules, i like the idea of have enforcement, and having majority rule....but there ARE problems with the system....

for example....majority doesnt rule....on this site...the rules are sometimes bent, and the enforcers sometimes dont think the same way....

also, you can tell people "if you dont like it, leave"....but eventually people will, theyll get tired of it...(not saying there arent alot of dumbasses who shouldnt be here anyway)...but this site is run off of sponsors, sponsors see traffic, people leave, less traffic, less sponorships....

i like the site, ive learned alot since i joined, and ive helped alot of people...which makes me like coming here also...

also if your mature enough you can look and see that as a mod its easy to say a smartass one word phrase, because no ones going to send you on a vacation or talk back.....ive seen some mods lay the smack down on some retards and i was happy it happened because some trash needs to be taken out....the best situation however is when you can find a mod leading in his or her forum...giving good advice and helping noobs with car issues....this is what makes jordan a good guy

Really, there is NO way to hold votes for the majority of the actions we do. 90% of the time its a clear cut violation of the rules. The only subjective judgement involved is when to crack down, not if. That can sometimes be a point of contention.

Thing to remember here, is that while this place is a community, it is also a business. As such, it needs to be run like one. With that said, there are rules, and we enforce them. Get over it! If you don't act like an *******, you won't get smacked around. Its pretty simple...

No, we pretty much just tell you to leave if you have a problem with the way we run things here. The only people that will leave are the ones we have problems with anyways. Good riddance!

The people that actually follow the rules here and do not cause trouble shouldn't have any issues with moderators or the policy. You are correct that sponsors enjoy the traffic, but they also do not care about negative jackass traffic either. We try to remove the negative stuff.

i agree with this, and have never kidded myself....
i also agree with tony, esp. on the "if i tell you to leave, take your ball and go home"....if the founding father with the nice cars, red letters, and the power plug says leave you dont have much of a choice and it must be for good reason...

orangeapeel i see how it is, say something nice....and get laughed at

You'll find the information if you go into the right section.
* If you have a suspension question, go into the "Suspension & Brakes " section.
* If you have a appearance question, do into the "Appearance and Detailing" section.
* If you have a internal engine question, go into the "Generation III Internal Engine" section or the "Generation IV Internal Engine" section.
* ETC
* ETC
* ETC

You won't find all the answers to all your questions in a regional section. That is not the purpose of regional sections. Regional sections are for regional topics, not tech topics. Tech topics belong in the appropriate tech section.
