How do you become a moderator?
How do you become a moderator? I just had this pop into my head today.How do you get chosen to be a moderator, how do they (whoever they is) choose which forums you moderate (i'm assuming it would be by your area of expertise) and what is the difference between a moderator and an administrator?

About 2 times a year, we discuss candidates in our moderator forum. Current moderators nominate other members for particular sections, and we vote yes or no. Generally, we look for these things:
1. Very active members who participate almost daily
2. Helpful members who answer questions and do not throw attitude around or act like wise asses.
3. People that show excellent technical and/or racing experience and knowledge.
4. Seniority in membership time is a plus.
