The search system is being changed. That is why it does not work unless you follow the directions that are in that thread. New software and servers will be here at the end of this month.

In a nutshell, it doesn't work the way it used to and it won't for awhile. There are some Mickey Mouse ways to find what you need, but it takes more time (your time) to enter in the requisite info and/or to manually read through your search results.

Well, love your assumptions there. But, as it has been outlined several times, this is a temporary problem, with a permanent solution in the works. This is the current search that will be used, but right now the GUI does not support the advanced search options. When done, it will.
