I'm experiencing the same problem. I had my custom avatar linked from my own personal website. No matter what I type in, the site tells me that the url to my image is invalid. I'm positive I have the url typed correctly.

things do seem to load a little faster but overall seems a little slower than before is there anything we need to do on our end?

odd, first comment I've heard about the site being SLOWER post-upgrade. Anything we can look at in particular, such as any certain part of a page that is loading slower than before?

The only thing on your end that would affect performance is the actual speed of your computer, or the speed of your internet connection. Beyond that, you shouldn't have any need to tweak things on your end.

Unhappy

Brains,

I noticed today that the edit feature on posts when browsing on my mobile device no longer works... when I try to edit a post, there is nothing existing in the body anymore to edit.. Has the XML coding changed or something?

I noticed that now the EDIT POST is integrated within your current post, and it doesn't automatically bring to you the "advanced" posting phase..

Maybe that has something to do with it?

the site uses a bunch of XHTML/AJAX now -- and since I don't have a fancy mobile device, I can't test I think there's an option in your usercp to disable ajax features for your profile, that might help you out.

Big problem with the site upgrade:

The alphabetical sponsor list is gone...or at least it's not where it used to be. All the sponsors are lined up on the right side of the website, but there's no alphabetical listing. I was trying to look for a sponsor last night and it took me about 5 minutes of constant searching to find them...and every time you refresh the page, the sponsor's order changes.

May want to add a link to the alphabetical listings on the very top of the sponsor list like there used to be.

Other than that, things look good, Brains.

Overall the site looks good ... just afraid when you put the message history back to the way it was it will be slow back the way it was. Can you archive most of it and stash it on a different partition to access with it's own seperate cache behind it's own router? I'd like to see the traffic sent through a F5 WOC. Has this been a thought?

Sent a few PM's to sponsors for parts and haven't heard from them and have no idea if they received them. They usually reply quickly. No confirmation reply's from PM's.

What is AJAX that people are referring to?

Also, is there anyway to increase the number of threads per page higher than 40? Call me lazy, but in a long thread I hate clicking next page. A bunch of other forums I'm on have a 100 thread option.

Thanks.

There've been issues with e-mail notifications, including e-mail notifications from private messages. We're working on that. They probably haven't seen the messages just yet in their e-mail, but they should see them when they log into the site.

Actually mine is really really slow. Ive had this problem for a while. Ive even called Time Werner to check my roadrunner connection and they said that I have a one of the fastest connections that they have seen. My computer is new. It takes so long to load up a thread, and it takes even longer to send a reply. Just thought I would let you know.

how long is "so long?" For me, everything loads in a very reasonable amount of time.
