Notification problems?

Notification problems? I didn't see any reference to this on the first page, so don't ban me for asking 
I am not receiving subscription notifications. I remember last week Brains gave the system an enema and I received a flood of 50+ notifications. The last notification I received was on 10/5. I posted a new message with the correct notification settings yesterday and thought it odd nobody replied. I found out that others had replied, and I manually subscribed to the thread, then replied in the thread as well. Still didn't receive notifications to future posts.
The site has sped up a lot since the upgrade (for me), and the search is wicked fast. It's a huge difference from merely a month ago

Received a PM today, yet I did not receive an e-mail notification that I had received the PM. Just in case the SMTP sender address changed, I checked my spam folder on both my ISP and on my client. Not found in either location.
Still not receiving subscription replies.
