Default Avatars and Sigs? AVATARS

why is it that some are allowed half naked chicks in their avitars but when I put one up there that was wearing booty shorts i was told to remove it. Its the same in sigs too. Mine was deleted b.c it wasnt acceptable yet alot of regular posting members gone untouched. Just wondering If i have to get to a certain standing before im allowed or it is just a few sigs that mods missed?

Thanks

I think it's certain mods see it and certain others don't. They have a lot on their plates keeping the forum running then busting every single avatar and signature violation. I'm suspecting yours was just luck of the draw. I see people with 640 x 480 sig pics and two chics making out in an avatar, and a mod replies in that thread and does nothing. Me personally, I don't want to feel like a NARC and tattle on said person, I figure sooner or later a mod will catch it and edit it for them.

There are 100 staff members and over 100,000 members. We don't see every profile every day.

We have a moderator who spent at least 3 months solid on just sigs and avatars - only for members to send gripe pm's or put nasty one liners back in.

There is only so much we can get to, took me 3 hours to do ONE thread alone. Now count how many active threads there are an go figure how much time it would take to change them all.

Well there's a site rule that says that only people who can't spell the word "avatar" correctly are subject to infractions. So, that might be why.

I wouldn't buy any of these answers for a minute.

Out of 4 replies so far....3 of them from mods who 'don't have time to track every thread'? Here is a fact: No solid rule exists for sigs that can be followed. If you keep that in mind you'll be fine.

I had a mod target me for some reason (editing posts, screwing with my sig, etc) so much that I pretty much abandoned it. I believe most of the mods operate here on good faith but a few of them are all too eager to show their ***. If you want an example, watch how quickly I get fucked with with my contribution.

Now you see the good (tons of info) and the bad (selected mod behavior) of ls1tech. So when you see someone's sig/avatar violation....whatcha gonna do? Complain? Who's gonna listen? They say 3 lines of text = pure bullshit. Every other thread being replied to with has a text sig violation. As big as this site is, SOMEONE could write some code to filter out the text that violates the sigs but that ain't gonna happen. Images would need human participation.

Bad thing is, I'm just being honest.

Well i would never send a mod on here a hate message, I know that you do your part as staff to help things move nicely. I was just courious when i saw pics that i felt were inproper. Yeah didnt notice i spelt avatar wrong till i hit send. I never worry about spelling lol. but i was just wondering if mine was way outta line or something b.c it was deleted with no message. but i guess like Amy said people are ****** and have stupid comments to the mods when they ask them to please remove the pic, so its just easier to remove the pic themself and save the trouble. Makes alot more sense now and lord knows i would wanna be a mod, way too much to deal with. thanks for your time

When folks come on here and after a few weeks start bitching constantly, I have no problem simply pointing out facts - which is all my post did.

I do not apologize for speaking my mind, or not sugarcoating things. If folks can't deal with that, tough ****. Grow thicker skin.

For quite awhile we did send a short but polite "could you change it/here is a link to the rules" and it worked most of the time.
Then the board increased membership - the feature to kill a sig and leave a link lets us grab more at one time but each one has to be reported with the member name and why it was killed so it still takes a lot of time.

You probably aren't aware that half of the ones killed will change them back to what they were before within a day. Rechecking the same thread and members is futile.

And if Cyphur is ever nice - I'm grabbing a towel!!!!

You're right. That would get old I'm sure. I wasn't looking for an apology my skin is thick enough no sugar required here.

Hmm, I know. Send me the said "booty short" avatar and any questionable sigs. I'll assess the situation and get back you.
