Unhappy oil pressure gauge

tried a search and only found peoples gauges going crazy-not this. When i bought my ws6 the oil gauge would be 0 then jump up when the car started up. i took it to a mechanic for its first oil change and then i noticed....whenever my car is off the oil pressure is a little past 40. turn the car to on and it goes to 0 then when its started it goes back up. what caused this and is there anyway to get my gauge to read 0 when my car is off? (and no im not draining my oil everytime i turn it off) so if you were about to say that-
