Default SFV Fires

Everyone OK? I know a lot of members live near the fires.

Not too much chatter on here today, compared to normal. Hope all is well with everyone.

Not to sound like a total ***, when I know some people have last their homes and such, but the ashes all over my car are killing me.

I just had the right side repainted last month. I washed it on Saturday and kept it garaged all weekend. Just went outside to get my iPod out of the car and the damn thing is covered in ash.

Is there a recommended way of cleaning the car? use or avoid a dust mop (will the ash scratch the paint)? Low pressure water & rewash?

I had to take the 210-134-5 route today. I usually take the 210 to Osborne.

From my office I could see another fire. It looks like its near Porter Ranch or so.

Allblacksrt4 had to evac this morning at 6:30. The trees in front of his house burned.

I'm near the Porter Ranch fire, If it comes over the hill doing the night I too will have to evac.

It sucks out here in Simi Valley right now. I couldn't go to work, they closed down the freeway and were reserving the 23 for emergency vehicles when it was time for me to leave for work so i was stuck.

Several of my friends were evacuated last night. It sucks that only a small percentage of the fires were contained last night when I was watching the news. The fires were in Chatsworth aswell, pretty close to where I live. Hopefully the winds die down, and the Fire Department can put them out sooner.

It's a scary thing. We were evacuated last year and could see flames from our house in Val Verde...

Porter Ranch is still 0 contained and it's windy as hell!

Sending good thoughts to all who are near these fires.

A few friends of mine were evacuated from that area last year. The fire came close to my house off of Hasley Cyn in Castaic.

^^^ Sure. The fire on the West end near Santa Suzana (side) was put out. The fire on the East side (porter side) spread north about a mile inward nd was contained. The winds died down and started starving the flames, both fires fires were kept from burning a single structure, 2 horses did die though . For the time being everything is good.

I'll post up should anything happen. Where abouts do they live? I'll keep a special eye out for that area. I have to keep my eye on my aunts house anyways, they are about the middle of the valley, and i'm at the very mouth of the valley. Both fires came relatively close to me compared to the rest of the valley.
