so my mom brought her benz to the dealership for a simple oil change, turns out she had a bunch of **** wrong,, bad tranny mount, rear bushings were bad, she needed new tires, $3500 for all that. BUT the thing that almost made do the "spit take" was the price for spark plugs.... $480!!! holy crap. i know they need a special tool but 500 bucks for spark plugs lol crazy ****.

hate hearing **** like that..... I cant remember who it was, but a friend of mine (girl) took her lifted silverado to get serviced. And they charged her like $120 to change the ACdelco air filter, $300 to do the fuel filter, and some outrageous amount for plugs and wires.
**** the dealership.
**** the dealership.

What engine is in it? My Ex's C240 V6 used 12 spark plugs. Even then thats still $40 each.
I know oil changes were $80-100 for the same car.
I did it myself much cheaper. I even sent Eric @ Install University the steps and pictures when he was first expanding over on the MBZ side of his website.
I was arguing with the service writer for one of these jobs and he responded with "Well sir, this isnt a Chevrolet, it is a Mercedes. That is a much different engine". I told him "HOOOOLLYY SHIIIIEEET, I didn't know Mercedes had a nuclear reactor in between the fenders. It is still a internal combustion engine, is it not?". I left and went home. The filter is on the very top, I didnt even get dirty doing the oil change.
Brakes are easy too, if you dont need to change out the rotors. just pull the pins out of the calipers and slide out the pads.

The mount is super easy to do. you just need a jack.
tie rods aren't that hard either. you just need to measure the same spot on your tires (front and back side, across from each other and to a center line under the car) then adjust them until they are back at the right distance. That should get you close enough to take it to get the alignment checked.
