Default Is this worth it?

Is it worth it to spend the money and get a tune for a stock LS1 Camaro with and intake and LT's, ORY and catback? I am about to put wrapped SS LT's on my car and im wondering if it would be worth it to have the car dyno tuned with a Dynojet?

"worth" is relative, but the engine will definitely perform better...

^ ya i guess it depends on what mods you plan to get in the future and when you plan to get them. if nothing is on your list anytime soon then you can probably gain a few hp with a tune

Thats what i was wondering. Do you know about how much HP gain is to be expected? If it is 10 or less then i deem it not worth it. If its about 20 hp or higher then i would go for it.

every car is different... i would have to put it at about 10-15.. maybe a little more tq but not much... the main thing you will be able to change are your shift points and stuff, which will help you.

are you going to be putting a cam and/or heads on it? what kind of intake do you have?

You will gain HP/TQ and gain fuel efficiency. So to me yes its worth it. My car without the LTs or anything gained 10rwhp and 30rwtq

I have an M6. No im not going with a cam anytime soon, and i have the K&N FIPK. The whole reason for this thread is because OCGMP is now open and is offering a bolt ons tune for $350 and i was wondering if its worth it.

they can always update the tune for $50-$100 if they are willing to do it for returning customers.

thought you were a4 for some reason.. you should pick up a little more than what i had mentioned then

ballpark of 15hp... and about 25tq....

if your not going to do any other big mods in the near future.. go get it tuned... if nothing else, you will have some numbers to brag about.. you will benefit from it... only time i say not to get one after bolt ons is if a cam is in the near future...

I'd say that it's more worth it than you wrapping your headers. lol I've only seen ricers and serious FI cars do that. O and what makes them SS? lol

Well originally i wanted to wrap them to keep the heat it. For two reasons, under hood temps and keeping exhaust hot for the downstream o2's. But im sure the tune will fix the o2's, so really no reason other than to keep under hood temps down. and to keep them from burning anything, or me if im under there when its hot.
