Default WANTED: SIR coil (clockpring)

I need an unbroken/undamaged SIR coil (clockspring) from the steering column to complete my steering wheel swap.
  • Has to work with a 1999 car and related parts (airbag, column)
  • Has to have wire harness for radio controls still attached to it
Anybody have it?

It's the round thing with the yellow and black wires coming out of it. I need that part with the wires/plugs on the steering wheel end, and the wires/plug on the under-dash side still attached. The steering wheel must be turned perfectly straight-ahead on the car for proper removal (so the unit is not damaged on re-install). I think there should be an orange indicator when it is lined up (pictured). The wires run through the steering column and can be unplugged from a connector under the kick panel to the right of the steering column - pretty easy to find.

I'll pay $60.

If not... Does anybody have the part number that I need to get it from a dealership (or a place that I can find one)?

I tried a local f-body wrecking yard but they refused to pull it - stating that "it took too long" to pull (15 minutes wtf??) and that people usually damage it on re-install (that's because it was removed improperly...).

You should edit the pic with arrows to better illustrate what you are looking for.

The one yard that I know that has it will not let me in "for insurance reasons" - if I get hurt yadda yadda. Although they let me in the yard before... To buy my hatch... and another separate time for interior parts... Same yard that said they won't remove it because it's too much of a hassle.

those things are a bitch to take off intact, i had to break it off my column. you are better off just removing the entire column from a junker.

Problem is the entire column costs a hell of a lot more than just the SIR coil. Plus I'd imagine its harder to install a column than just an SIR coil. Anyone know if they're interchangeable from other kinds of cars??

I've removed and reinstalled steering columns several times. It's pretty simple. Few bolts, few connections, that's it. I have done it on both M6 and A4 cars, but I forgot how to disconnect the park cable or whatever you call it from the A4 steering columns.
