Default quick q&a about throttle body "porting"

so i was wondering if i would get more hp out of "porting" my tb orrr just buying a new 1? if i would even get any hp out of it. once again i have no idea how to work that new search **** otherwise i would have so all the vets on ls1tech dont get mad ahah

it should give u atleast 4whp depending on mods, but the biggest improvement would be throttle response

good enough 4 me ahah. i was lookin at some "bbk" tb and it was almost 400 n claimed to give 8-12 horsepower. didnt know if it was bullshit or not

if u are using the stock ls6 or ls1 intake the opening is only 78mm, so if u were to get anything bigger then 78 it wouldent make much of a differance, 80 would be ok but i dont see a point to a 85mm tb, so porting your stocker would be the best in the end. trust me man u wont regret porting it, i port and polished mine and bypassed the coolent line and it surprised me with the increase of this free mod.

Do it yourself..a buddy of mine has done a couple of them him self...if u have a roto-zip, it'll help you out alot...take down the nasty groves little by little and then work your way down 100 grit-200 grit-500 grit-1000grit-and last 2000grit....once your done doing the sanding...slap on some mothers polish and you got yourself a sweet TB for under 20 bucks..
