Default AZ roads

I'm here visiting in Phoenix and see a lot of cameras over the traffic lights and heard about cameras on the expressways. I like Phoenix, but would be worried about tickets living out here.

The cameras everywhere are a PITA but I have gotten use to watching out for them. How long are you visiting in Phoenix for? What part of town are you staying in?

on the freeways, there are signs that say "photo enforcement zone"

so it's easy to tell where they are lol

Get that flip down plate thingy. Or drive fast enough to make the license plate unreadable on the cameras. Mach 3 should do it.

They were talking about the cameras on the news a couple weeks ago. If I remmeber correctly, they said you have to be doing over 160 for them not to work.

So it's definately feasible.

Whats up with those license plate cover things.

I just do 5 over and call it a day. I think everyone on here said 10+ and it's getting you.

most cameras you see are just to monitor traffic for light changes, the ones you need to look out for are the box looking ones that have a flash built in

Aside from passing the normal 4 permanent cameras on the way to ASU tonight (only 10 miles), there were also 2 mobile units... all after dark! I didn't realize the mobile ones were out after dark, since they are BRIGHT. So they capture speeders, but does that matter when you're blinded by 30,000 Watts of flash? But it's not about revenue... not at all....

this past weekend i got flashed saturday night in the TA, going 65mph, by one of the mobile ones.

then the following day, i got flashed on the bike, but this flash was from a stationary unit, and had a red flash... i had a tinted visor on, and gave them the finger right in front of my face, so we'll see what that one looks like

Default cameras

They have added 6 new cameras on my way to work, and it is very annoying havin to slam on the brakes every mile to keep from getting a ticket. Those plastic covers that you can put over your plates work well from what i have heard.

On the way home from work last night on the southern stretch of the 202... traffic slowed down to a PATHETIC speed of TWENTY-FIVE MPH!!!! There was a damned Escape camera SUV there. Thanks for %$#@%ing up traffic DPS.
