If you spend 800-900 on a 10 bolt you've been fucked big time...
I picked up a 3.42 rear for 100.00 complete from end to end $20 of Black POR15 and it looks clean as ****.
There are plenty of deals on stock rears for $100-300... Dont blow a grand on a stock rear...

whoa dude i just saw this thread....i hope you didnt order any parts yet for that ten bolt...if you did id return them immediately...just pick up a good condition used rear end...much less headache of breaking one of those than a polished up turd people call a "built ten bolt"... they just dont last on these cars...

3a. The torsens seem to wear out quicker whether you race or not. Tell-tale signs of a fading torsen are ratcheting/clunking noises when turning/low speeds/etc. If your torsen does break, you can replace it with another, or pick up an aftermarket carrier.

I beat the **** out of my car(98 T/A), probably have 300 passes on my "stock" 10 bolt with 3.42 Gears..It whines & I might have a posi issue but I have had the car since 02. If you are not going to run the strip you are probably ok to spend the $900 or get a cheap used one.
