Cast iron welding?
Cast iron welding? anyone in the SFV know of a place to get a cast iron manifold welded? a buddy of mine got a crack in his and needs it repaired. cant really replace it.

Most all welding shops can do it. All you need is stainless steel rod/wire. (I forget the numbers, but a friend of mine welded the cooling crossovers on a pair of lt-1 heads that he put on a gen I block. I would look into a cylander head shop, myself, as the head(s) will need to be milled for any warps after welding. It usually is'nt too expensive. Hope this helps!
cast iron requires pre and post heating to avoid cracking. Sometimes you can put it into a hot barbque then weld it and put it back for a while and slowly cool it. Some people bury pieces in hot sand to let it cool more slowly.
It takes some experience to know the best technique.
