The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
the guy said it was on a 69 chevelle that had a pretty much stock 350 with 8:5- 9:1 compression.
heres my setup so far. got rid of the crossfire setup and doin this now.,
i got a 84 corvette that im building (it is no longer a crossfire motor). i just purchased a used turbo kit that a guy had on a older chevelle. it looks complete and the guy said it was on a pretty much stock 350. my motor is stock bottom end,arp head bolts,2000 vortec heads, decent size cam, and 1.6 rockers.
the kit i bought has a holley 600cfm double pumper blow through carb, carb hat, older (but no shaft play) rayjay turbo, wastegate (said was set to 12psi) some stock manifolds with a t3 flange welded to the passenger side, a crossover pipe (dont think itll work with my setup). no intercooler though (he was running a water/methanol kit)not sure.
some questions i have:
1. what kind of fuel pressure would i have to run?
2. What size intercooler would be alright?
i was thinkin like a stock eclipse sized one.
3. What amount of boost would be safe?
my buddy thats building the motor said we should start at 6psi.
4. What else would i need?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
heres what i got:
cam specs:

2000 vortec heads (cleaned and checked now):

stamped 1.6 rockers:

double roller timing chain:

arp head bolts:

turbo stuff:

that would be fine if you keep it around 6-8 psi any more than that on that small int wouldnt be good.
no more than 10 psi boost on a stock 350 bottom end blow through ,thats just me ,it will be safe at 10 psi
looks like you got prety much all you need
so if anyone is interested in a turbo kit. its up for sale. turbo needs to be rebuilt but it comes with pretty much everything i think?
so let me know when you can do it and ill bring the car down
btw how did that carb end up working out???
