Exclamation Desperately need a DETAIL!

So I searched through a few Craigslist ads and found a "professional" mobile detailer who just came over and put THOUSANDS of swirl marks on my car ...its a long story blah blah blah...anyways, if anyone out there knows how to use a porter cable/rotary and wants to make some extra $$$ please hit me up...the car is an 04 black G35..I know I know...I sold the TA a few months ago :-/ But it looks like complete *** in the sun. Unfortunately I dont have the know-how or materials to get it done right. I've seen a few threads on here from time to time and I know some folks here have some great skills...thanks in advance everyone.

Once you go black theres no turning back.

Once you go black... It's a kick to the sack?

Once you go black.... You'll be coming back.

Try it yourself. You dont need a buffer. You can try hand waxing it. Try some Scratch-x then follow that up with some Nano WAX. Then You can use some Zaino Sealer.

Autopia has some great tips on how to detail your car yourself. Just do a simple google search.

Do not use a claybar now or within a week or two of fixing the swirls, and if it has already been claybarred then hold off for a year or so... Don't want to cause any more damage than what has already been done.

So wait to remove swirls wouldn't you use a claybar? I though it was there to remove that stuff and rough spots.

I dont understand..why wait to remove swirls if you recently used a claybar? I've seen a couple of videos on youtube, including from Meguiars which said to clay before doing this...in any case, the paint is really smooth already, its like glass, just full of swirls.

Exactly. The paint on this car has already had all the contaminants removed, plus it's possible to accidentally cause more damage (as a claybar is an abrasive, despite what the package says). For a regular detail, you're supposed to go in this order (keeping it real simple):
Claybar
Scratch removal/polish
Wax/sealer

You guys are all confused. Clay removes all the crap that sticks to the paint such as tar and imbedded dirty and grim. If the surface of the paint is smooth as sink then dont clay it bc when you do clay it, It removes everything including Wax. If its rough then clay the entire car, use scratch-x or another swirlmark removal. Then wax it, I personally use Nano wax, Easy to apply and easy to remove. Then thats it unless you want to take the extra step and find a sealer like Zaino.

I was it with Nano then just dust it every day with a California duster and every 2 days use a Microfiber and Detail spray. Stays clean for 2 weeks min.

x2... Claybar is only necessary if the car feels rough. I mentioned to not claybar it soon after you fix it, because many of the common products used to remove swirls will soften up the paint a bit (not noticably), this is not the time to try and sand/"pull" away surface contaminants... Personally I would try for about a week after to take it easy on the finish...
