The law used to be like 3 or 4 years ago 25 years or older then they tried 30 years and that didn't pass so then they said anything from 76 and newer must be smogged.

cant find the article but, shouldn't have posted that, don't want to
anyways if I find it I'll post a new thread.

But I def. pick the 75. No smog, which is a HUGE PLUS. Just throw a stroked 350 in it and one of those ebay TT kits(upgrade the turbos and BOV)

Thats my plan for my dad 89, but WAY down the line.

Ohh no man it's cool I understand. No worries I go into work and spit my A game or try to, they are training on more areas now too so that helps, we are going to be hiring in the next couple months. I want to keep the car NA if I do a turbo i think a turdgen would be more fun to do that with or maybe an LT1.

Cant go wrong either way.

Remember though that 500rwhp in a second gen is not as smooth as the ls1s and takes quite a bit of work and good(expensive)parts. But for sure, dont waste your time on a 383...you will have to find a 400 crank for it anyway just use a 400 block and you wont have to spend the extra $$$ on clearencing the block for the crank, plus you will hav the extra cubes and pretty much all the parts bolt right up.

I like the old cars too, ive lost interest in my 72 firebird but ive owned a 71 and 72 camaro and they are awesome cars.

Let me know if you decide to dump the 72 at some point, we will see if it is a reasonable enough price for me. I am not a huge fan of firebirds but an early second gen looks sick.

Why not just do a bbc? If I had a car that I didn't have to worry about smog I would have a piston/rod 454 on a 2 stage 300+ shot. BBC's love teh sprayyyy!!!

Or just us a stroked out 454, that should make close to 500whp right?

Im ready to get rid of it now if I can get a half decent price for it, problem is I dont have the papers so you would have to put a lein on it...I just dont have the time or the room for it anymore.

hmm, i would toss some minor mods on the ls1 because you can always take them off and sell them if you need funding for a strip car or lose interest. Getting deep into a restoration/buildup will be much more costly and if you lose interest you will regret it. Unless you like it like a hobby to work on cars for most of your free time.

Yeah mine sounds good now but i do want headers. I may hold off on the 75 and get some rims tires and headers and ory, 8.44 1/8 time has got to be cut to a high 7 low 8.

Then maybe adjustable torque arm and adjustable rlcas, and mounting brackets for em, hey then maybe qa1's and drag springs.... LOL then have a 12 second flat stock car.... Hahahaha
